This fantastic qualification is intended to provide the learner with the skills to deliver First Aid within an educational environment. The ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid for Schools and Colleges helps educational establishments meet their need for the provision of first aid training for their students and staff. Unlike First Aid at Work, which does not include paediatric first aid, this qualification covers both adults and children, including resuscitation procedures for children up to 18. This course is delivered over two days.

Our delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of the learner.

Delivery

Topics include the roles and responsibilities of a first aider, planning for and dealing with first aid emergencies involving children and adults including, CPR, shock, seizures, choking, blood loss, suspected fractures, and head, neck, spinal and chest injuries.

Our typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance.

Features

Qualification training requires:-

  • Minimum tutor contact time of 12 hours (excluding breaks)
  • 1:12 tutor-to-candidate ratio
  • The course must be completed within 6 weeks of starting
  • Each delivery session must be a minimum of 2 hours
  • Successful completion will result in the candidate gaining the ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid for Schools and Colleges valid for 3 years from the date of completion
  • The qualification is revalidated by attending another training course after 3 years
